Calling Men to Pray for the City!
Jeremiah 5:1 says: ”If I can find but one person who deal honestly and seek the truth, I will forgive this city!”
God told Lot that if there were just ten “righteous” in the city of Sodom, He would spare the city! (Genesis 18:32)
It is our firm conviction that the work of city transformation is GOD’s work and yet He calls us to participate with Him! One of the strategic, yet often neglected disciplines, is the practice of prayer. Historically, every great movement of God has been accompanied by great preaching, and precipitated by earnest prayer. Would to God that we would see an outpouring of God’s Spirit over western Canada in our day!
To that end, we are inviting Christian men from across our city to gather regularly for prayer. Every 2nd & 4th Tuesday from September to June we will gather at the Granville Island Hub (#200 – 1502 Duranleau – upstairs above the “Whet” Restaurant) for prayer. Check the event page for details or schedule changes.
NOTE that we’re taking a break for July & August – hope you will consider putting this on your regular calendar come September!
Please spread the word among the Christian leaders you know. Pastors, planters, businessmen, lay leaders – you name it. We envision an army of brothers on our knees for the city. Help us spread the word – and plan to join us!
I Timothy 2:1-2 & 8 I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayer, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone – for kings and all those in authority that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness….I want men everywhere to lift up holy hands in prayer without anger or disputing.
