C2C Assessment Centre
Church Planting BC uses the C2Cnetwork Assessment Centre to screen all potential church planters. The C2CNetwork works with leaders from multiple denominations and agencies, using the skills and expertise of a wide-range of assessors in order to give the most thorough and un-biased evaluation of a potential planter.
How Assessment Will Help You
Before the advent of assessment centres, new church plants had a success rate of less than 50%. This means that of ten church plants less than five made it past 3 years as an established and self supporting church.
In the early 1990′s Church Planting assessment centres were developed to evaluate leaders as to their suitability for success in church planting. This selection process and follow up coaching has significantly impacted the rate of successful church plants.
Success has been defined as functioning well and “self-supporting, self-governing, and reproducing.” We believe church planting assessment centres are one of the best investments in ministry for planters with a vision to reach people for Jesus Christ through the planting of new churches.
What is an Assessement Centre?
It is a time to rub shoulders with a group of people that are investigating whether God has called them to church planting and to see if you meet the profile of a church planter. It is a time to visit with expert practitioners in the field of church planting and to learn from them. It is an intense four days that uses a variety of inventories, activities, and evaluations to help you better understand your call.
It is an opportunity for you to recieve feedback in the following areas:
- Emotional health/self image
- Relational ability
- Marriage and family relationship
- Personal integrity
- Relationship with God
- Vision/philosophy of ministry
- Evangelism
- Leadership gifts/ability
- Entrepreneurial gifts/abilities
- Preaching
- Enthusiasm
- Faith
- Productivity
- Knowledge of church planting/growth
- Discipline
What Benefits Can You Expect From an Assessment?
Men who are considering church planting will receive:
- An accurate assessment of your ability to plant a church
- Accurate feedback on ministry and church planting strengths and weaknesses
- Recommendations for training and supervision to aid the planters as he moves forward
- Re-direction into other fields of ministry for those who are not seen as strong candidates for church planting
- Encouragement to press into the call of God on your life
- A thorough and honest evaluation on your current emotional & marital strengths
Because the marital health of the “planter-couple” is a critical factor in the success and/or failure of so many church plants it is imperative that potential planters wives attend the assessment centre with their husbands. If a spouse is not able to attend the assessment, you will be asked to wait til the next assessment centre is scheduled.
